The British High Commission seems to be cracking down on Canadians and Working Holiday Visas, with rejections and delays mounting. Did you encounter problems applying? If your application was rejected, did you appeal? Post your comments below to help other Canadians!
I applied for a working holiday visa under the impression that it was the correct one for me. If you are a full time teacher you cannot apply for this visa and will have to wait another month to schedule another appointment. In the meantime you will need a work permit created for you in the UK and mailed to you in Canada. That should take a few weeks and its good to get your appointment at the British High Commission while you wait for your work permit.

There's been a lot of confusion around working holiday visas. They are only supposed to be used to come over to travel and then to support yourself with casual work. If you put down on the application that your reason to come to the UK is teach, your application will likely be rejected, as officials will think you are goign to be working full-time - defeating the purpose of the WHV. Your best bet is to say that you are coming to travel. Any question please don't hesitate to contact me!
